Compensation (Pay): $21.00 to $30.45 /hourly, based on experience.
A $1000 sign on bonus will be paid in the following manner: $300 payout upon 30 days of employment, $300 payout upon 90 days of employment, and $400 payout upon one year of employment*.
*Current employees are not eligible for the sign on bonus.
Loyalty Bonus - $1200 upon 1 year of service and then a $300 payout for every additional 3 months worked. This applies to only FT employees. The amount will be prorated for PT employees.

Job Summary: Supports pharmacy operations and pharmacists in the provision of pharmacy services to patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Correctly interprets new prescriptions including drug names, dosage forms, dosage strength, medical abbreviations and quantities and the orders into the pharmacy computer systems ensuring accuracy and completeness of all information
- Identifies obvious errors or omissions on new prescriptions
- Has working knowledge of current PVCHC drug formulary and related policies and applies them to prescription orders entered into the Pharmacy computer system
- Has working knowledge of all prescription payers accepted and applies them to new and refilled prescription orders
- Runs prescription refills in the computer queue and processes them for filling
- Creates prescription labels and associated paperwork to be used in filling prescriptions.
- Prioritizes the order in which prescriptions are filled
- Fills prescriptions in preparation to be verified by a pharmacist by pulling medication from shelf stock, mixing powder suspensions and other reconstituted drugs, using Kirby Lester or other counting machines to fill tablet and capsule prescriptions
- If automated counting system is in use: retrieves counted tablets and capsules, replenishes tablets and capsules & runs associated daily reports, maintains hardware, assigns and unassigns drugs and creates labels associated with this task
- Identifies drugs that need to be reordered daily
- Conducts quality control by checking drug expiration dates and lot numbers
- Performs inventory control by checking in the daily drug order received from the wholesaler, labeling the drug order accurately, and placing the drugs on the pharmacy stock shelves in order of expiration dates
- Replaces drug stock labels on shelving units to identify drug placement.
- Pulls drugs in backstock forward to the prescription counter as necessary
- Creates manifests and packages prescriptions for daily delivery orders to outlying Peak Vista clinics
- Returns medications not picked up into stock after 2 weeks
- Initiates alerts to customers for prescriptions ready for pick up
- For the medication synchronization program: enrolls eligible patients, identifies prescriptions to be filled monthly and sets up filling those prescriptions on a schedule, sends renewal to providers in advance of the patient’s med sync schedule, verifies medications that are no longer used by the patient or discontinued by the provider, synchronizes filling prescriptions based on Colorado Medicaid or Peak Vista pharmacy dates of service
- Scans verified prescriptions into bins for storage and pick up by the patient
- Uses patient identifiers to ascertain that the prescription selected from a bin to be sold is for the correct person
- Checks in patients for Warfarin Center and Cardiovascular Risk and Diabetes Center appointments
- Processes cash and credit payments for prescriptions and center appointments and conducts daily cash drop in accordance with Peak Vista processes
- Answers in bound phone calls and triages them appropriately
- Processes internal and external renewal requests and prior authorization requests for delivery to providers
- Prepares documents for pharmacist to transfer prescriptions to and from other pharmacies
- Prepares unit-of-use medications for clinic stock orders
- Conducts clinic medication area inspections as assigned
- Performs billing for Medicaid DME claims when needed

Education/Experience:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent education.
Work Experience: Minimum of 1-year experience as a Pharmacy Technician or completion of a Pharmacy Technician education program preferred.
Certificates and Licenses: National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) and State of Colorado Pharmacy Technician License (PHAT), or Provisional License (PHAT) required.
Computer Skills: Basic – ability to access the intra/internet to manage timecard, review policies and procedures, and read company communications; use e-mail to communicate with co-workers, leadership, and other departments; enter and correct data, modify a workbook, format a worksheet, and use printing functions; create, run, & print a simple presentation in PowerPoint
