Compensation (Pay): $21.43 to $31.07/hourly, based on experience.

A $1000 sign on bonus will be paid in the following manner: $300 payout upon 30 days of employment, $300 payout upon 90 days of employment, and $400 payout upon one year of employment*.
*Current employees are not eligible for the sign on bonus.

Loyalty Bonus - $1200 upon 1 year of service and then a $300 payout for every additional 3 months worked. This applies to only FT employees. The amount will be prorated for PT employees.

Job Summary: Assist in providing high quality dental care that is culturally appropriate and prevention focused utilizing Teledental Applications. Teledentistry is the use of electronic information, imaging, and communication technologies, including interactive audio, video, data communications as well as store and forward technologies, to provide and support dental care delivery, diagnosis, consultation, treatment, transfer of dental information and education. The goals of Teledentistry are to be an additional tool for improving the oral health of patients more conveniently, affordably, innovatively and provide more accessible care to our patients facing access barriers. This individual will be expected to provide high-level support to the Teledental Providers as well as Teledental patients in the navigation of our Telehealth platforms. This position will float between 3 clinics in the Colorado Springs area. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Medical Dental Integration (MDI) hygienists in chair-side procedures, and diagnostic imaging acquisition.
  • Responsible for preparation and setting up of instruments, materials, and equipment necessary for each procedure.
  • Responsible for the sterilization of instruments as necessary, and the cleaning and routine maintenance of equipment and work areas.
  • Assist with front desk responsibilities as needed, including, but not limited to: 1) Scheduling and recall process; 2) reception of patients and updating patient records.
  • Assist in processing encounters, billing and bookkeeping procedures.
  • Identify related medical and/or social problems.
  • Report inventory problems and/or supply requests to Supervisor of MDI and/or Practice Manager.
  • Serve as liaison between Teledental Providers and patients before, during, and after their virtual dental appointments including consultations with other service lines.
  • Provide or arrange for technical assistance to patients on how to navigate our Telehealth platform(s).
  • Provide ongoing training to staff/providers on any updates on the Teledental process and its procedures as necessary.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times to all clients.
  • Navigation of patients and staff to appropriate virtual rooms with dentists and other provider modalities.
  • Post appointment communication including but not limited to treatment plan presentation, future appointment scheduling, and portal query response as necessary.
  • Call patients to confirm when necessary and obtain digital check-in documents prior to their appointments in accordance with Teledental Pre-Visit Check-in Protocols.
  • Coordinate with the dental staff the dentist’s schedules for those patients that will be seen through Teledentistry.
  • Maintain all necessary data entry in a timely manner.
  • The ability to demonstrate knowledge and work with diverse populations in the community.
  • Serve as key component to teledental patient outreach.
  • Assist in completing and obtaining reports on a daily/monthly/weekly basis as to patient outreach opportunities, pre/post visit surveys, and number of Teledental services provided and follow-up requirements in and effort to meet or exceed the Telehealth programs measures/requirements.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule; this position may occasionally require not-traditional hours such as evenings and weekends.
  • Participates in Teledental PI projects.
  • Communicates concerns or problems with patient flow, customer service or quality assurance to Supervisor of MDI.
  • Assists in educating patients and with the training of new Dental Assistants.
  • Travels as necessary to meet operational needs.
  • Maintains a safe work environment by remaining informed of and compliant with the clinic’s safety policies, and in particular by application of safe practices in area of own responsibility.
  • Compliance: Knowledgeable of and compliant with laws and regulations governing area of responsibility. Responsible for reporting any potentially non-compliant conduct.
  • Cooperates fully with our Compliance Officer in upholding our compliance plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Sensitivity to low income and ethnic minority community a must.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • An ability to navigate videoconferencing platforms.
  • Skills and abilities to teach others.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • An ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English; organizational and time management skills.
  • An ability to perform multiple tasks; good problem-solving abilities; demonstrate flexibility and positive people skills.
  • An ability and willingness to learn and expand abilities.
  • An ability to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with patients and coworkers. Ability to work in a team environment a must.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain charts, records, logs and reports.

Position Reports To: Clinic Leadership/Supervisor of MDI

Education/Experience: HS diploma or GED Required. Graduate from dental assistant school preferred. Dental certification required or a minimum of 3 years of experience as a chair-side Dental Assistant. X-ray certification required. Previous clinical experience in an Ambulatory Care/Primary Care setting preferred.

​​Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel. Telehealth Platforms, Medical and Dental EMR

Certificates and Licenses: Dental Certification as applicable, Xray certification, CPR, CO Drivers license (Applicants must be at least 21 years of age or older to be an eligible driver on behalf of Peak Vista).
