Inside Out Youth Services (IOYS)

Peak Vista Community Health Centers (PVCHC) and Inside Out Youth Services (IOYS) are collaborating to provide services to adolescents and young adults in the Colorado Springs region. Both not-for-profit organizations are innovative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed in how they serve the community at-large. IOYS focuses on the LGBTQIA2+ and Ally community, including all members of the sexual orientation and gender identity spectrum. Both IOYS and PVCHC are committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and antiracism (DEIAA). This position is funded by various grants. Services will be provided primarily at the IOYS Colorado Springs location.

Looking for someone who is energetic, with a positive and creative attitude, to fit this hybrid model of scheduled and drop-in service. Cultural competency which includes the sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of our community is essential. The ability to provide gender-affirming care is required, with a preference for lived experience. Must understand people from all walks of life and be able to communicate effectively to quickly build rapport and engage individuals in care. Understanding trauma-informed care principles/practices is important. Confidence in being able to efficiently assess needs and determine appropriate, empirically validated interventions is required in this brief, short-term intervention model. Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately to de-escalate is beneficial. A strong candidate will be able to work independently, flexibly, and to quickly adapt to changing situations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Have excellent diagnostic skills with a wide range of individuals and be skilled in the biopsychosocial model of assessment.
  • Provide brief interventions to adolescents and young adults, and possibly their families, on a scheduled and walk-in basis.
  • Offer crisis intervention services as necessary.
  • Complete appropriate brief assessments as appropriate.
  • Be team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with care team members to facilitate meeting individuals’ needs.
  • Be familiar with Peak Vista, IOYS, and other community resources.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation consistent with agency standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Master’s Degree (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, or other human service field.
  • Licensed or license eligible (LCSW preferred, LPC or Licensed Psychologist accepted).
  • At least three years’ experience working with adolescents and/or young adults experiencing significant mental health challenges. Experience with managing mental health crises and working in community settings strongly preferred.

Additional skills: Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Compensation (Pay):
Psychologist: $91,728.00 to $112, 813.87/ yearly, based on experience.
CSW, LPC, MFT: $69,761.12 to $85,797.38/ yearly, based on experience.
*Other compensation may include rural location differentials.
