Compensation (Pay): $23.13 to $28.70 hourly/based on experience.

Job Summary: The Dental Applications Analyst I provides technical support services for software applications, with a focus on the Electronic Dental Record (EDR), Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Practice Management System (PMS). Responsibilities include customer service, workflow optimization and documentation, software training, testing and installation of applications and upgrades, data integrity checks, and ongoing system maintenance. This position collaborates closely with the technical support team, subject matter experts, data analysts, and end users to support regular system usage, special projects, and organizational initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides on-demand, friendly, and thorough customer service to application users and trainees.
  • Collaborates with the Clinical Informatics team and Dental Leadership to advocate for health informatics, support, and training across multiple departments; serve as the interface between clinical, operations, and application support.
  • Develops training plans and conducts education for dental staff on clinical systems and related applications.
  • Assists with analyzing and completing system change requests and configurations.
  • Engages with end users to ensure applications meet performance expectations and support adoption.
  • Identify and resolve or escalate issues, provide resolutions, and communicate timely status updates.
  • Design, test, and document system enhancements while assessing the business process impacts.
  • Performs gap analysis between system functionality and organizational requirements.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and modify forms, reports, and processes.
  • Serves as liaison between staff and software vendors for issue resolution.
  • Provides onsite support during pilot programs, production rollouts, and version upgrades.
  • Utilizes SQL and Power BI to support reporting on appointment data and population health metrics in coordination with the data analyst team.
  • Reviews patient records for compliance against quality measures.
  • Maintains and protects operations by keeping protected information confidential.  
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Higher education, such as Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, data analytics, health informatics, business administration, or other technical field/business related preferred.

Experience:

  • One or more years of experience in areas such as training, electronic health records, application analysis and support, clinical documentation, computerized order entry, results reporting, and other clinical technology preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Dental Record (EDR) software preferred. Experience with SQL, Power BI, and other database querying or reporting tools preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Computer knowledge, experience with use of computer applications, internet, database software, and keyboard skills.

  • Ability to travel between clinic locations with own vehicle as required.
  • Understanding of and compliance with laws and regulations governing area of responsibility.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age or older to be an eligible driver on behalf of Peak Vista.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Must meet and maintain driver criteria as prescribed by Peak Vista’s insurance underwriter.
