Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a nonprofit health care organization whose mission is to provide exceptional health care to people facing access barriers through clinical programs and education. We provide integrated health care services including medical, dental, and behavioral health through our 20 outpatient health centers. We deliver care with our strong "Hospitality" culture. Our organization has over 800 employees and serves more than 74,300 patients annually in the Pikes Peak and East Central regions of Colorado. Our service area covers 14 counties, from the front range to the Kansas border, with locations throughout Colorado Springs, Fountain, Divide, Limon, and Strasburg. Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Compensation (Pay): $33.96 to $49.24 hourly/based on experience. An additional $2.00 per hour if you hold a BSN.

A $5000 sign on bonus will be paid in the following manner: $1250 payout upon 30 days of employment, $1250 payout upon 90 days of employment, $1250 payout upon 6 months of employment, and $1250 payout after 9 months of employment*.
*Current employees are not eligible for the sign on bonus.

Loyalty Bonus - $5000 upon 1 year of service and then a $1250 payout for every additional 3 months worked. This applies to only FT employees. The amount will be prorated for PT employees.

Job Summary: The Quality Oversight RN champions quality and performance improvement (QI/PI) initiatives across Peak Vista, ensuring compliance with AAAHC, HRSA, and other regulatory standards. This role partners with leaders and frontline staff to design, implement, and sustain projects that improve patient safety, clinical outcomes, patient experience, and operational efficiency. The Quality Oversight RN plays a key role in preparing the organization for performance improvement,  audits and advancing our mission of delivering exceptional, equitable care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and monitor QI/PI projects in alignment with the QI/PI Plan and QI Committee charter.
  • Conduct gap analyses, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive solutions using Lean Six Sigma and PDSA methodologies.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate quality improvement initiatives; participate in and lead special project work groups; work collaboratively to guide and influence the course of change.
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on AAAHC and HRSA quality requirements, ensuring readiness for audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Align QI/PI strategy and planning with organizational initiatives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional improvement teams, including development of work plans, timelines, and standard work; act as main contact for PI projects, obtain updates, and report out current projects in accordance with HRSA regulations.
  • Collaborate across clinical and non-clinical departments to facilitate improvement teams, develop work plans, and track outcomes.
  • Provide timely updates and reports to the Director of Population Health, QI Committee, Executive Team, and Board.
  • Educate staff on QI/PI processes, templates, and best practices; support orientation for new employees.
  • Assist the Director of Population Health with QAL and other Carina-related work groups.
  • Collect and interpret data for special focus issues, grievances, clinic-specific concerns, and provider-related topics.
  • Research and analyze grievances, clinic focus issues, and provider subjects; prepare summaries and recommendations.
  • Assist with staff and provider education on clinic issues, grievance findings, and other identified topics; contribute to training and work groups.
  • Disseminate best practices from QI/PI projects and support adoption across health centers.
  • Evaluate workflows and recommend policy/procedure changes that improve care quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Assist Quality Assurance RN with quality metric review and ongoing projects.
  • Promote a culture of safety, equity, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Travel regularly to Peak Vista sites to support QI/PI initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required; BSN preferred.

Experience: 2 years’ experience in clinical nursing preferred. Experience in QI/PI or process improvement strongly preferred. Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or equivalent project leadership experience desirable.

Certificates and Licenses: Current Colorado RN License required; Current CPR (BLS) preferred. Valid Colorado driver’s license and proof of insurance. Must meet and maintain driver criteria as prescribed by Peak Vista’s insurance underwriter.

Computer Skills: Proficient use of EHR to document care plans, conferences, and updates to providers accordingly. Basic knowledge of internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point), and other relevant software programs.

Other Skills: Perform all job functions and responsibilities of an RN quality assurance and provide team education and second level review. Knowledge of insurances such as Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers alike. Understanding of reimbursement methodology for each payer. Experience in data mining of multiple platforms to include EPIC, NextGen, COHRIO, and private payer portals. Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance to include governing bodies such as JACHO, AAAHC, HRSA & HEIDIS.
