Compensation (Pay): $21.43 to $31.07/per hour based on experience.
A $1000 sign on bonus will be paid in the following manner: $300 payout upon 30 days of employment, $300 payout upon 90 days of employment, and $400 payout upon one year of employment*.
*Current employees are not eligible for the sign on bonus.
Loyalty Bonus - $1200 upon 1 year of service and then a $300 payout for every additional 3 months worked. This applies to only FT employees. The amount will be prorated for PT employees.

Job Summary: The Medical Assistant Float provides patient care under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider. Schedules appointments and performs the necessary intake functions for arriving patients, assists in questions, directs telephone calls, and other patient service duties. Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of provider, patient, and assigned area. The Medical Assistant contributes to the success of the clinic by ensuring the quality of care provided to the patient. This role requires flexibility as it involves working at multiple Peak Vista locations in Colorado Springs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
- This is a float medical assistant position that is based at our Health Center at Printers Parkway but will have the opportunity to float to various Peak Vista locations in Colorado Springs.
- Checks email and phone communication daily and responds to communications (email/phone messages) per Peak Vista policy
- Schedules appointments and performs the necessary intake functions for arriving patients
- Must complete MA competency skills check within 90 days of hire and all ongoing required competencies, trainings, and assessments
- Required to work at other Peak Vista locations as requested
- Orients/supports new staff as requested
- As a Peak Vista healthcare team member assists in the coordination of providing quality patient care
- Responsible for attending all required Peak Vista meetings
- Actively promotes and participates in clinic team-based care model
- Supports providers in the delivery of medical care, assisting with patient procedures as needed
- Responsible for ensuring patient treatment areas are clean, organized, and follow Peak Vista safety and compliance standards
- Employee demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to the Compliance Plan and conflict of interest requirements. The employee enhances the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of the department by contributing to, and participating in, departmental performance improvement goals

Education, Certification, Licensure:
- Registered/Certified Medical Assistant; current CPR (BLS) certification.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age or older to be an eligible driver on behalf of Peak Vista.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Must meet and maintain driver criteria as prescribed by Peak Vista’s insurance underwriter.
Work Experience:
- Relevant healthcare experience preferred.
Language Ability: Ability to effectively present patient information and respond to patient questions, under the direction of a licensed provider. Bilingual (Spanish) desired.
Math Ability: Demonstrates understanding of fundamental math and basic algebra.
Reasoning Ability: Demonstrates the ability to solve practical problems through utilization of critical thinking skills. Ability to interpret and implement a variety of instructions communicated in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge, experience with use of electronic health records, internet, database software, and keyboard skills.

Physical Demands: Long periods of standing, moving, and sitting. Frequent bending and fine motor skills. Hearing within normal range for telephone use. Must be able to get from one clinic site to related locations. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time. Must be able to support/lift 50 pounds.
