Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.  We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 25 outpatient health centers in El Paso, Teller, Lincoln, Adams, Elbert, and Kit Carson counties.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 600 employees and serves over 10% of the residents in the Pikes Peak region.  Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Responsible for the management and supervision of the day to day finance and accounting operations of a large, integrated primary healthcare system and its supporting Foundation.  Oversees preparation of cost reports, federal reporting and fiscal compliance, and financial reporting and compliance under the director of the CFO.  Participates in strategic planning and implementation of strategic initiatives.  Oversees and participates in coordination of annual budget process.  Establishes, maintains and updates an internal financial auditing process to assure compliance with accounting standards as well as various funders' requirements working with the CFO and Director of Finance.  Supports audit and compliance reviews with external auditors.  Responsible for the planning, coordination, and direction of financial administration of the organization under the director of the CFO.  Works closely with the Executive Team, the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors, and other senior leadership to provide current and prospective financial information and analysis to plan, monitor, and project programs and operational trends.  Reviews and provides input into fiscal policy on an ongoing basis.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervision Exercised:  Director of Finance

Qualifications

Education:  Bachelor's Degree in business management, communications, accounting and/or related field required.  Master's Degree preferred.

Work Experience:  5 years accounting finance or equivalent experience required.  3 years management, supervisory or leadership experience required.  Governmental, grants, non-profit and/or healthcare experience a plus.

Cognitive Skills:  (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability):  Strong customer service skills, ability to negotiate, excellent written & verbal communication skills, strong reasoning and critical thinking abilities, decision making capability.

Other Skills:  Able to adapt and change based on external circumstances.

Certificates & Licenses:  CPA or CIA preferred.


Physical Demands

Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills.  Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range.  Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
