Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Works in conjunction with Peak Vista departments to ensure all dental personnel are optimally trained on Peak Vista's electronic health record and/or patient management computer systems, electronic dental records and digital x-ray.  This includes ongoing training and verifying quality assurance standards are being met.  The Dental Training Specialist will have open communication with IT, Business Intelligence Team and other necessary departments.  Aids in identifying problems, work towards solutions and develop processes and procedures for optimal use of patient management computer programs.  Reviews patient records for compliance with organizational quality measures.  Provides reports of patient record reviews for decision making by organizational leadership.  Identifies potential new quality measures and creates proposal for inclusion in Peak Vista's quality program.  Implements processes of new content cross-departmentally.  Co-leads various teams as needed in addition to performing other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.  Dental Assistant or EDDA preferred.

Work Experience:  Minimum of 2 years dental experience required; previous training experience preferred.

Cognitive Skills:  (Language, Math, and Reasoning Ability):  High language, high reasoning and critical thinking and abilities required.

Computer Skills:  Must be computer literate and have keyboarding skills.

Other Skills:  Ability to manage several projects at one time required; ability to work with a diverse patient population required; ability to plan, facilitate meetings required, bi-lingual (Spanish speaking, ASL) desirable

Certificates & Licenses:  Current Dental Assistant Certificate or EDDA Certificate preferred.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending. Moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motor skills.  Looking at a computer screen continously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range.  Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
