Job Summary (Essential Functions)


Maintains daily dental appointment scheduled for all providers, interacts with patients, staff, referral providers and their office staff to set up and coordinate all aspects of the dental referral patient program. Provides timely dental records support to staff, files loose dental paperwork and re-files dental records on a daily basis. Coordinates the daily flow of patients through the dental services system. Assures daily patient treatment eligibility verification. Performs appointment scheduling, case management assessment, referral specialist duties, dental record duties and is a back up for cashier duties. Maintains inventory of the dental records including purging and sending to outside storage facility. Does yearly observation days of dental assisting to be aware of their job duties. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High School graduate or GED required.

Work Experience: Strong customer service skills, one year receptionist experience preferred, computer experience preferred, some dental/medical office experience preferred, filing skills, cashier skills, switchboard or multiple line skills preferred, some dental/medical records experience preferred.

Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): Ability to correctly perform basic math and reading skills as needed for superbill transactions required, bi-lingual a plus(English/Spanish).

Computer Skills: Keyboarding & Computer skills required.

Other Skills: Dental/Medical administrative skills preferred

Certificates & Licenses: Current Colorado Driver’s License and insurance in accordance with Colorado State law required.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
