Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.  We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 25 outpatient health centers in El Paso, Teller, Lincoln, Adams, Elbert, and Kit Carson counties.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 600 employees and serves over 10% of the residents in the Pikes Peak region.  Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

In-depth experience and skill working directly with customers, over the phone and in person, for identifying and resolving technical issues. Experienced in the installation, configuration, operation , and trouble-shooting of PC hardware and peripherals, Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office; understanding of network technology to include hardware, cabling, protocols and integration of systems into a Microsfot Windows network environment; experienced in using Help Desk work order and solutions software.  Experienced in using remote desktop tools.  Technical writing and oral communication skills.  Has good interpersonal and customer service skills with technical and non-technical customers is also able to work in a team environment.  Is able to move and lift items up to 50 pounds. Customer service and teamwork skills are a must.

Qualifications

Education: High School Graduate or equivalent required.  Associates in Computer Science or equivalent in work experience preferred.

Work Experience:  Minimum of 2 years in computer technology in a service desk environment desired.

Cognitive Skills:  (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability):  Must have effective oral and written skills.  Must be able to enter clear and concise trouble-shooting steps, and able to follow trouble-shooting procedures and solutions.  Must be willing to work rotating on-call shifts, and extended hours as needed.

Computer Skills:  Must be experienced in Microsoft OS from XP to 7, MS Office software from 2007 to 2010.

Other Skills:  Must maintain a current working knowledge of IT trends and technology.

Certificates & Licenses:  CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft MCP desired.  Must have a current and valid driver's license and readily available transportation to go from one PVCHC site to another as needed.

Physical Demands

OSHA Risk Level/Work Environment Hazards:  This position has been categorized as OSHA Level Three (See PVCHC's Exposure Control Plan for details).

Physical Demands: Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motoer skills.  Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range.  Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
