Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.  We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 28 outpatient health centers in El Paso, Teller, Lincoln, Adams, Elbert, and Kit Carson counties.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 800 employees and serves 82,000 patients in the Pikes Peak & East Central Plains region.  Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Sets the strategic vision and long-term IT strategy for the company in conjunction with the Executive Team. Ultimately responsible for delivery and execution of company IT strategy and needs aligned with healthcare industry standards and the company’s core values. Discovers, develops, and maintains an in-depth understanding of the company’s industry, trends, and customer needs, both internal and external. Leads IT department and other staff in continuous process improvement, enhanced internal and external customer service and support, balancing effectiveness and efficiency with short-term and long-term company IT needs and priorities. Leads the technical strategic planning for the entire corporation related to Information Technology and the physical security of Information Technology including relevant data. Oversees the coordination, planning for installation, maintenance, security and integrity of company data and information. Overseas IT, Medical Records, and the Customer Service Center departments. Ensures technical specifications and bids are in place to secure hardware, software, services and Supplies. Participates in vendor selection meetings and conferences on behalf of the IT and other departments as needed; plans and projects personnel, equipment and space needs/costs as they relate to IT, Medical Records, and Customer Service Center for executive team consideration. Ensures telephone, IT hardware and software maintenance and contract renewals are in alignment with company needs and strategic priorities, and consistent with the company’s core value of stewardship. Prepares annual long-term budget for IT capital expenditures and assists in overall budget preparation for the department. Ensures the secure operation, monitoring and maintenance of the computer equipment available in the organization. Tests and ensures the disaster recovery process is capable of meeting recovery standards, business continuity plan in lieu of electronic systems being available, HIPPA compliance related to IT, and other regulatory compliance as needed. Qualifications

Education: Bachelors Degree in business management, information technology and/or other related field. Masters Degree preferred.

Work Experience: 3-5 years management leadership experience, 3-5 years Senior leadership experience preferred. Healthcare and/or not for profit experience a plus.

Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): Strong customer service skills, ability to negotiate, excellent written & verbal communication skills, strong reasoning and critical thinking abilities,decision-making capability.

Computer Skills: General Microsoft programs, Needs to have an understanding of IT documentation requirements. Experience with Blade systems a plus. Other software programs PV uses a plus. System architecture basics required. Systems interfacing a plus. Report cataloging and design a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA requirements.

Other Skills: Able to adapt and change based on external circumstances.

Certificates & Licenses: Any computer certifications a plus.


Physical Demands
 

 

Physical Demands: Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
