Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.  We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 20 outpatient health centers in El Paso,Teller, Lincoln, Adams, Elbert and Kit Carson counties.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 600 employees and serves over 10% of the residents in the Pikes Peak region.  Peak Vista is a Federally Qualified Health Center and is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

This position is responsible for the supervision and development of the Enrollment Services Department, ER Diversion program and Reception. As such, it will develop, implement and comply with all relevant client-facing administrative policies, procedures and systems that support Peak Vista’s operations and strategic plan.  It is also responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state and local requirements supporting Peak Vista’s role as a Federally Qualified Health Center, and as a key partner in the statewide healthcare safety net.  Other significant areas of focus will include the support of the Exchange Navigation Program, working with the Director of Revenue Cycle to explore and launch commercial insurances, effectively transitioning reception into a centralized department, and other projects and initiatives as they become necessary.  In addition, the role is responsible for fostering an environment of continuous improvement and efficiency.  The position reports to the Vice President of Business Intelligence and Revenue.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
 
         Recommend, develop and implement departmental goals as related to the corporate strategic plan
·        Strategically represent the roles and interests of reporting departments while participating in agency-wide planning
·        Provides direct oversight of Managers of Enrollment Services Department and Reception Department, including but not limited to: hiring, firing, personnel action and oversight of                      departmental progress
·        Foster cohesive ‘customer service’ orientation among departments within the Client Services Directorate
·        Ensure all departments receive adequate and appropriate training to ensure transition to private payer market
·        Perform duties of ‘Super User’ within Peak Vista’s Electronic Practice Management system
·        Recommend budgets for program departments to the Vice President
·        Monitors budgets and assures departments are within budget limits
·        Participate in various teams as necessary
·        Travel to health centers/clinics periodically as needed
·        Perform related and ‘other duties’ as assigned


 Qualifications:

Experience Required/Preferred:
         Healthcare experience is required
·        Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with public and/or private insurances is required
·        Experience in a customer service-focused environment is required
·        Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
·        Minimum of 2 years’ experience with financial management is preferred
·        Strong understanding of medical billing is preferred
·        Four-year degree from an accredited college or university is preferred

Physical Demands

Physical Demands: Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
