Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.  We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 25 outpatient health centers in El Paso, Teller, Lincoln, Adams, Elbert, and Kit Carson counties.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 600 employees and serves over 10% of the residents in the Pikes Peak region.  Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Direct the communications team for Peak Vista Community Health Centers, driving public relations efforts that will generate editorial coverage, positive sentiment and engagement, and social reach for all of the company's health centers and programs; This position  help build market presence in multiple locations, manage company conferences and events, and partner in developing the company's corporate communications strategy. This is a senior leadership position within the communications team, and will report to the Vice President of Communications. 
 

  • Provide leadership for the day-to-day operations of the communications team
  • Direct development and systematic implementation of Peak Vista’s external marketing and public relations plans
  • Oversee internal communication efforts to ensure stakeholders are identified and communicated with in a timely and effective manner
  • Provide direct oversight of all media relations and tracks/reports media impact
  • Oversee public relations initiatives and attends community functions and events as a Peak Vista representative, helping to generate/maintain relationships with key stakeholders and guide positive external relations while identifying opportunities for involvement in/support of community presentations and community events
  • Write compelling, informative articles, reports and responses often under extremely short deadlines.
  • Identifies and creates marketing plans to promote key services, specific health centers and staff
  • Support system wide initiatives for new and existing health centers and programs
  • Compile reports to convey results from communication activities
  • Monitor key marketing trends in the health and well-being industry and provide analysis
  • Systematically expand Peak Vista marketing efforts into new platforms and channels while working with a limited budget
  • Provide oversight of digital and social media efforts, including content, design, analysis and conducts regular content audits
  • Ensure that Peak Vista collateral messaging, contact information, and graphic standards are accurate, consistent, and relevant
  • Serve as backup, or at times primary, Public Information Officer (PIO) for Peak Vista
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned


Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5+ years of communications, advertising, or public relations work experience writing for either general audiences or niche audiences
  • Minimum 3+ years of management experience with direct reports
  • Experience working in a large, complex environment and culture with high creative output
  • Effective and engaging presentation skills in front of multiple outlets such as Live news feeds, large group settings and in crisis communication
  • Knowledge of and experience in communications methods, best practices and marketing strategy including current and new media
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional partners, consumers, and vendors
  • Fluency with AP style
  • Strong instincts and experience matching copy with visuals and design for an appealing presentation
  • Have experience in both internal and external communications and understands the importance of integrating communications with all audiences across various mediums
  • Exceptional project and time management skills, flexibility to manage multiple priorities manage multiple tasks, set priorities and be intrinsically motivated in a fast-changing environment
  • Overall highly computer and technology savvy, with experience in web and Intranet Applications, Windows, Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Keynote, Visio, SharePoint, Adobe Suite, Photoshop, and other applicable software
  • Comfortable with systems and technology, demonstrated ability in problem-solving these issues
  • Possess the ability to navigate priorities, create communications plans, and tactics and successfully execute to achieve objectives
  • Understand the creative development process from concept through approval and production through distribution to end users
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills. Must be comfortable with numbers, performance reporting, and making data-driven recommendations
  • Understands how to create and manage budgets
  • Confident and approachable management style with positive, can-do attitude to solving issues, seeing opportunities, and offer solutions
  • Able to work independently with good multi-tasking capabilities and keen attention to detail
  • Self-starter, positive, and enthusiastic about driving new marketing strategies
  • Experience in event planning and logistics
  • Healthcare industry knowledge a plus
  • Photography and video skills a plus
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish)preferred


Physical Demands
Physical Demands: Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
