Description

Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.  We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 28 outpatient health centers in El Paso, Teller, Lincoln, Adams, Elbert, and Kit Carson counties.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 800 employees and serves 82,000 patients in the Pikes Peak & East Central Plains region.  Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

This position leads the Peak Vista fundraising and stewardship efforts, including the annual fund, major gifts, planned giving, event fundraising and capital campaigns, in keeping with the mission of the organization and working with the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors Development Committee.

  • Demonstrates energy and ability to share the passion that results in successful fundraising.
  • Ability to build relationships with potential and current donors.
  • Responsible for annual fundraising strategies including but not limited to events, annual giving, campaigns and planned giving.
  • Meets to present in one-on-one and in large group settings.
  • Engages community members, constituents and donors in Peak Vista's Story and Impact in the Community.
  • Directly supervises fundraising staff.
  • Serves as part of senior leadership staff.
  • Serves as a representative of Peak Vista at external events
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education:  Bachelor's degree, with Master's preferred.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum of five years' experience in leading a successful development program required.
  • Demonstrated success in managing annual giving programs, capital campaigns, and planned giving required.
  • Experience in healthcare fund development preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare and not-for-profit industries helpful but not required.
  • Background in Fundraising or related experience.
  • Ability to prioritize and focus on greatest return on energy.
  • Demonstrates a broad understanding of the philanthropic environment, foundations values and grants processes.
  • Understands agreement negotiation and relationship building
  • Demonstrates understanding of financial concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with donors, staff and board of directors
  • CFRE or AHP certification preferred.
