Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Summary: Provides monthly training and coaching for all Medical Assistant team members while serving as the liaison to the Clinical Team Manager/Director of Operations.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides direct support to the Clinical Team Manager, Operations Director and Medical Director
  • Trains new staff on, but not limited to NextGen/EPM and other utilized databases.
  • Work in conjunction with Clinical Team Manager/Operations Director on MA Feedback sessions while exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
  • Serves as the liaison between all support staff and clinic leadership
  • Provides vaccine program support & inventory management for both VFC and private stock
  • Direct the work of assigned MAs and demonstrate thorough knowledge of all SOPs involving staff, patient regulations including (HIPAA) and on-going clinic specific center regulations
  • Updates all training, ordering appropriate materials, managing created provider templates and ensuring monthly competencies are completed on time.
  • Assist Director of Operations with patient advocacy issues focusing on customer service, patient satisfaction/complaints and provider productivity
  • Orders and maintains non-medical and medical supplies as needed
  • Participates and serves as the back-up facilitator for PI/QI activities utilizing FOCUS/PDSA & AAAHC benchmarking.
  • Leads department operations in the absence of the Director of Operations
  • Schedules MAs with providers and works with other clinic MA Leads for cross covering
  • Supports facility safety initiatives, physical clinic maintenance while maintaining clinic appearance regulatory standards.
  • Helps maintain open line of communication between, RNs, Clinics, and Administration, and all other internal departments and external customers as necessary
  • Employee demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to the Compliance Plan and conflict of interest requirements. The employee enhances the effectiveness; efficiency and productivity of the department by contributing to, and participating in, departmental performance improve goals.


Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Education: Associates Degree in Business/Healthcare preferred. Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program. “Registered Status" desirable. Military applicant acceptable with equivalent training.

Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Medical Assistant required. Supervisory experience preferred, medical office experience strongly preferred.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and Database software.

Certificates and Licenses:

MA certificate; current CPR (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.


Physical Demands
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
