Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.  We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 20 outpatient health centers in El Paso, Teller, Elbert, Lincoln, Adams and Kit Carson counties.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 600 employees and serves over 10% of the residents in the Pikes Peak region.  Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Performs the tasks required for the following positions to include: appointment scheduling, registration clerk, case management assessment/ referral specialist, dental records and cashier. Provides comprehensive communications, both oral and written to patients and clinical staff and coordinates the daily flow of patients through the dental services system. Maintains daily dental appointment scheduled for all providers, calls and confirms appointments each day, interacts with patients, staff, referral providers and their office staff to set up and coordinate all aspects of the dental referral patient program. Assures daily patient treatment eligibility verification and provides timely dental records support to staff, files loose dental paperwork/re-files dental records on a daily basis. Performs daily cashier functions and balances daily transactions for submission to finance office daily, do yearly observation days of dental assisting to be aware of their job duties. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High School graduate or GED

Work Experience: Strong customer service skills, one year receptionist experience preferred, computer experience preferred, some dental/medical office experience preferred, filing skills, cashier skills, switchboard or multiple line skills preferred, some dental/medical records experience preferred.

Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): Ability to correctly perform basic math and reading skills as needed for superbill transactions, bi-lingual a plus(English/Spanish)

Computer Skills: Keyboarding & Computer skills desirable.

Other Skills: Dental/Medical administrative skills preferred

Certificates & Licenses: Current Colorado Driver’s License and insurance in accordance with Colorado State law


Physical Demands

Able to lift at least 25 pounds. Long periods of standing and moving. Occasional periods of sitting. Hearing within normal range for telephone use. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time.
