Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Senior Accountants are responsible for assuring that processes and specific entries are correct which in turn asure the accurate reporting of the financial statements and any data prepared by the finance department. Senior Accountant report to the respective Director dependent upon focus of job duties. Essential duties may include some or all of the following: Prepare and maintain the annual budget by working with the leadership team and meeting the Board of Directors Strategic Goals. Assist with the financial budgeting process. Perform analysis of financial data for the organization. Assist in preparing the 990, FFR, Cost Reports, and financial sections of grant applications and of the UDS. Develop and prepare periodic forecasts for organization to aid in operating and cash flow decision making as needed. Prepares monthly budget variance reports and supports managers in responding to monthly budget variance report issues. Lead the preparation of audit work papers assuring accuracy and compliance with various external requirements in conjunction with Director and/or VP review. Assure the process for recording supplemental accounting ledgers results in transactions being recorded correctly and accompanying documentation is accurate and thorough. Maintain capital budget and monitor expenditure activity. Assist with preparing operational preform as needed for company decision making after investigating the program and contract requirements. Assure financial information is prepared in accordance with GAAP, GAAS and other financial reporting standards. Assure supporting documentation and the logic of the entries are defensible prior to sharing the information outside the finance department. Report and resolve any high risk accounting areas to assure the integrity of the accounting records. Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to the Compliance Plan and conflict of interest requirements. The employee enhances the effectiveness; efficiency and productivity of the department by contributing to, and participating in, departmental performance improve goals. Performs others duties as needed.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required in one of the following: Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with significant course work in accounting.
Work Experience:
Three to five years of
accounting experience required in some or all of the following areas: general ledger accounting, budget preparation, analysis and review, payroll review and reporting, financial analysis and direct experience working with supplemental accounting systems (A/P, A/R, P/R, fixed assets etc.).  Experience in a non-profit accounting or healthcare preferred.
Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability):
High language, high reasoning and critical thinking abilities.
Computer Skills:
Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as in accounting and other related programs. Preferred experience in ADP and NexGen. Experience with Dynamics SL and FRX preferred. Ability to adapt to new software. 10 key by touch.
Other Skills:
Demonstrates ability to work/manage projects. Manage priorities.

Physical Demands:
Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 30 pounds
