Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Oversee and is responsible for the accurate processing and reporting of accounts payable, payroll and cash handling. Supervises and develops accounts payable, payroll and cash handling operations to meet financial and regulatory reporting requirements.  Responsible for and provides technical assistance to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closing process.  Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities. Ensure that financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.  Reviews and updates financial policies and procedures. Develops and implements systems that accurately and efficiently process accounts payable, payroll and cash transactions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is preferred.

Work Experience: Three to four years of accounts payable and payroll or staff accounting experience required, preferably half of the experience is to be healthcare related, such as a medical group clinic or hospital. Experience in a non-profit organization desirable.  Previous supervisory preferred.

Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, and Reasoning Ability): Skilled in both verbal and written communication.  Requires strong analytical and problem solving skills and critical thinking abilities.

Computer Skills:  Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook required.  Experience with accounting software, preferable Dynamics SL, experience with payroll software, preferable ADP.  10 key by touch required.  

Other Skills:  Strong understanding of GAAP, including revenue, expense recognition principals, knowledge of internal control systems & procedures, financial reporting including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow.  Requires strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills. Must be able to manage priorities.

Physical Demands
Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
