Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.  We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 25 outpatient health centers in El Paso, Teller, Lincoln, Adams, Elbert, and Kit Carson counties.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 600 employees and serves over 10% of the residents in the Pikes Peak region.  Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Responsibilities include daily purchasing of materials, supplies, services and equipment.  Will document and inventory capital assets, equipment, and materials requisitioned by departments and locations.  Maintains inventory controls and levels, taking into consideration quantity, pricing and timely usage of materials to meet all departmental needs.  Assists the Material Manager with research and preparation of Request For Proposals (RFP) for major goods and service vendors; focal point for Statements of Work from other departments for generating a RFP; point-of-contact for proposal questions and receipt of bid responses; preparation of bid response worksheets and rating guidance.  Provides assistance to the Materials Manager as required.  Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.  Purchasing education, either formal or on the job, preferred.

Work experience:  1 to 3 years experience in a related field, preferably in a medical setting.

Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): Strong written and language skills and reasoning ability required.

Computer Skills: Must be familiar with basic Microsoft Windows environment, MS Mail, MS Word, Access, Excel and have keyboarding skills.

Other Skills:  Must have ability to safely drive corporate vehicle in all types of weather conditions.

Certificates & Licenses:  Valid Colorado driver's license, proof of insurance required, and must be insurable.


Physical Demands

Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motor skills.  Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range.  Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
