Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers. We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 26 outpatient health centers in The Pikes Peak and East Central regions of Colorado.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 750 employees and serves over 80,000 patients annually.  Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Responsible for the supervision of the accounting department, including cash management, payroll, accounts payable, cost reports and financial reporting and compliance. Participates in strategic planning and implementation. Provides assistance with and coordination of annual budgets. Establishes, maintains and updates an internal financial auditing process to assure compliance with accounting standards as well as funders' requirements. Coordinates audit and compliance reviews with external auditors. Provides direction and assistance with accounting issues related to contributions to Peak Vista Community Health Centers and to Peak Vista Community Health Centers Foundation. Directs the accounting for the Peak Vista Community Health Centers Foundation. Responsible for the planning, coordination, and direction of the business and financial administration of the agency. Works closely with the E-Team, the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors and other administrators to provide current financial information and analysis to plan, monitor, and project programs and trends. Works with banking and other associates to manage service requests. Reviews fiscal policy manual on an annual basis. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business management, communications, accounting and/or other related field required. Masters Degree preferred.

Work Experience: 2-3 years management leadership experience required, 2-3 years non-profit experience preferred, healthcare experience a plus

Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): Strong customer service skills, ability to negotiate, excellent written & verbal communication skills, strong reasoning and critical thinking abilities, decision-making capability.

Computer Skills: General Microsoft programs. ‘Project Manager,’ ADP, and Microsoft Dynamics a plus.

Other Skills: Able to adapt and change based on external circumstances

Certificates & Licenses: CPA or CIA preferred

Physical Demands

Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
