Job Summary (Essential Functions)
 

Ensure the highest security of all information system assets, protecting them from intentional and inadvertent access, modification and/or destruction. The role will help devise and/or modify systems to solve security problems, balancing business needs against potential risks. Candidate must possess a strong background within MS Windows system administration, and have some knowledge of commonly-used concepts, best practices, and fundamentals within information security. This position will perform a wide spectrum of information security, system engineering, and system administration tasks.


Execute policies and procedures for responding to security incidents, and for investigating and reporting security violations and incidents; assist the organization with forensic investigations as needed. Serves as HIPAA Security Officer and works closely with the HIPAA Privacy Officer on investigations as well as creating and implementing security SOPs. Candidate will help assist with System Patch Management (SPM); Vulnerability Management (VM), to include vulnerability scanning based on threats and/or regulatory compliance requirements; Security Project Management; and assist with the day-to-day security Operations and Maintenance for all systems. Assist in Security Risk Management (SRM), to include risk assessments and gap analysis, as well as verification of Certification & Accreditation (CA) safeguards to meet various healthcare regulatory requirements. Recommends, implements, manages security solutions for IT purchases.  Recommends, implements, manages security solutions for data center operations. Recommends, implements, manages security solutions for network and server monitoring. Implement and maintain medical records auditing process and procedures to ensure the medical records department receives, process, destroys, and releases medical records in accordance with current HIPAA regulations. Works with vendors as needed to implement security best practices across the network. Implement and maintain a computer hardware imaging process for the deployment of new computers to the work ensuring each system has all current software and hardware patches installed along with anti-virus and firewall configuration settings. Has a base knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Information Technology security field with a desire to gain more advanced knowledge. Implement and maintain account access process and procedures to create, change, and delete or disable access to any Peak Vista software resource under the operational control of the IT department. Expands IT knowledge base through department training sessions, joint and group projects, independent research, and other available methods. Manages the systems review process for all new software requests.


Qualifications


Education:  Associates in Computer Science or equivalent work experience preferred.
 
Work Experience: 3-5 years server or infrastructure experience, Healthcare and/or not-for-profit experience a plus.
 
Cognitive Skills:  (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): Must have effective oral and written skills. Must be able to enter clear and concise trouble-shooting steps, and able to follow trouble-shooting procedures and solutions.
 
Computer Skills: Must have knowledge of general Microsoft programs. Knowledge in configuring and troubleshooting many technologies including, but not limited to Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Interfaces and future technologies as they are utilized by the organization.

Other Skills: Research solutions and implement new procedures with minimal guidance.
 
Certificates & Licenses: Any computer, server, or network certifications a plus

Physical Demands
 
Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to drive and move and lift up to 50 pounds up to desktop height.
