Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.  We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 25 outpatient health centers in El Paso, Teller, Lincoln, Adams, Elbert, and Kit Carson counties.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 680 employees and serves over 10% of the residents in the Pikes Peak region.  Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Assists in the development and implementation of staff education and orientation, specific job related training, and further professional development. Serves as a clinical resource for the medical staff. Monitors and documents performance; and provides on-going feedback regarding levels of performance. Give necessary instruction in the performance of new equipment as relates to the utilization and maintenance. Assist with safety and quality improvement standards and procedures to ensure compliance.
Responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of reportable conditions.  Educates employees about infection prevention, ensures infection prevention standards meet requirements for governing and accrediting organizations (AAAHC, HRSA) and the CDC.  Responsible for the infection control program at PVCHC. Assists with employee health, tracking employee immunization completion.

Qualifications
Education: Registered Nurse.
 
Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a patient care setting.  Infection prevention experience preferred.
 
Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
 
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required, keyboarding skills.
 
Other Skills: Must have knowledge of local, state and federal rules, regulations and procedures pertaining to infection prevention.  Must be able to manage more than one project at a time and work well with interdisciplinary teams and exhibit an attitude that promotes harmony and goodwill. Must be able to safely lift up to 25 pounds.
 
Certificates & Licenses: Current Colorado RN License required.
