Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.  We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 20 outpatient health centers in El Paso and Teller counties.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 600 employees and serves over 10% of the residents in the Pikes Peak region.  Peak Vista is a Federally Qualified Health Center and is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).


Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Responsible for the direct supervision of the Accountants and Fiscal Manager.  Supports the preparation of the annual budgets.  Responsible for implementation of internal financial accounting and auditing process.  Oversee the day to day functions of accounting department. Responsible for supervising the preparation of monthly financial statements for Peak Vista Community Health Centers and Peak Vista Community Health Centers Foundation. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Peak Vista’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities included training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performances; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Associate’s and/or bachelor’s degree in accounting required
 
Work Experience: 1-3 supervising experience required, 2-3 non-profit experience preferred, healthcare experience a plus.
 
Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): High language, high reasoning and critical thinking abilities, analytical skills.
 
Computer Experience: General Microsoft programs.  Advanced skills in Excel.  Dynamics a plus.
 
Other Skills: Ability to work in a team environment, able to adapt and change.

Physical Demands
 
Physical Demands: Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
