Job Summary (Essential Functions)

The Immunization Coordinator has direct responsibility for all aspects of immunizations for the Pediatric Health Center. These responsibilities include: will have a complete understanding of the immunization process and immunization schedules; maintain vaccine inventory for the Pediatric clinic; provides training ongoing to assure competency of all staff in regards to all aspects of immunization; works with other clinics as needed to support immunization issues; provide support for the immunization process for the Pediatric clinic; assure all vaccines are properly stored and transported if needed; perform chart auditing within the clinic to ensure immunization accuracy; provide oversight of the immunization system for past due and current immunizations due to help improve immunization rates; participate in and help coordinate outside audits in all departments that pertain to immunizations; upkeep of all policies that pertain to immunizations; sends monthly updates on immunizations to all centers as needed, including all VIS information updates and maintains the immunization section on the Quick Peak SharePoint site; work with facilities and Clinical Leadership for new centers that are developed to assure proper set up for the immunization program to include successful enrollment in State Immunization Program; assist the training department in maintaining immunization trainings for all incoming staff, as well as monthly and yearly trainings; can be pulled as a float MA in cases of emergency staffing needs; performs all other duties as assigned.

Supervision Received: Pediatric Health Center Clinical Team Manager

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program; Registered Status required; Military applicant acceptable with equivalent training.

Work Experience:  Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required.  Ambulatory care/Primary care setting experience required.

Cognitive Skills: (Language, Math and Reasoning Ability): High language, high reasoning, critical thinking and problem solving abilities required.

Computer Skills: Must be computer literate with keyboarding skills.

Other Skills:  Ability to manage several projects at one time required.  Ability to work with a diverse patient population.  Ability to plan, facilitate meetings. Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking, ASL) desirable.

Certificates & Licenses:  MA certificate and current CPR (BCLS) certification required. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation along with valid insurance in accordance with Colorado law required.



Physical Demands

Able to support/lift at least 50 pounds.  Long periods of standing, moving, occasional periods of sitting.  Hearing within normal range for telephone use.  Must be able to get from a clinic site to related locations.
