Job Summary (Essential Functions)

 

The Clinical Trainer will report to the Manager of Clinical Training. The Clinical Trainer is responsible for supporting the Clinical Operations Training Team with regards to a variety of ongoing training projects and operations including: serving as the primary training support/workflow troubleshooting entity for their assigned clinics; ensuring training plans and training materials are developed and deployed appropriately in their clinics; tracking and trending clinical staff performance in an effort to target individuals and clinical workflows that need to be developed; aiding in the development of efficient workflows in order to optimize the use of electronic health records (EHR) and/or patient management computer programs in the clinical setting; and soliciting and communicating feedback from clinical staff regarding clinical workflows and associated processes and policies.

 

The Clinical Trainer will also work in conjunction with clinics throughout the organization to ensure all staff are optimally trained on the EHR and/or patient management computer systems to include ongoing training, support for audits and verifying quality assurance standards are being met. The Clinical Trainer will also provide narrative reports, and statistical data, regarding the findings of clinical scorecards and patient record reviews for decision making by organizational leadership.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

•Work in conjunction with Clinical Leadership to orientate, train and develop clinical staff

•Traveling to various locations to provide on-site training support.

•Working across the organization, with vendors and training teams to identify and communicate enhancements and best practices that may be adopted surrounding the EHR.
•Maintaining project documentation and course folders.
•Ensuring training plans and training materials are developed appropriately and implemented.
•Implementing and maintaining standardization of process, via training and trainings documentation.
•Providing as needed support to orientation, training and continuing computer education of staff.
•Assisting with training design and content development as needed.
•Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Additional higher education preferred. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or EMT program strongly preferred.

Work Experience: Previous professional healthcare or social service experience preferred. Training experience preferred.

Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability):Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, business agreements, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret and implement a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: Due to the administrative, coordination and clerical functions associated with this job, a thorough understanding of word processing, spreadsheet manipulation and processing and exceptional customer service are required.

Other Skills: Ability to flourish independently and in a team management system. Sensitivity to low income, ethnic and other minority communities. Excellent organizational, listening, de-escalation, tracking and documentation skills required.

Certificates & Licenses:
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or EMT program preferred. A valid Driver’s License in good standing.


Physical Demands

Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
