Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Oversees dental staff training for all dental clinics, is responsible for assuring dental staff is given training prior to starting in assigned clinics. Orientate and train new Dental staff in technical/computer duties using the training plan, maintain the training plan and update as needed in the computer.  Will assist CTMs, Director of Operations, and VP with education presentations and developing in-service education for all Dental Assistant staff.  Coordinates OR cases between surgical center and Pediatric dental team. Provides guidance and answers questions for the Dental Assistant staff as needed. Supervisory duties in conjunction with the CTM including Payroll, attendance monitoring, disciplinary matters within the department.  Provides assistance to dentist during examination and treatment of patient as needed. Will provide back-up to primarily assigned tech in Sterilization as needed.  Makes sure that the fee sheets are accurate for the Front Desk staff.  Helps the Front Desk as needed. Works with the purchasing department to order dental clinical related items. Will work with the CTMs, Director, and VP each quarter to get the PI audits completed by the dentists.  Will travel to outlying clinics. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:  Dental Assistant Certification, High School Graduate or equivalent;  EDDA Certification required.
Work Experience:   Minimum of 2 years clinical experience required; previous training experience preferred; previous supervisory experience preferred
Cognitive Skills:   (Language, Math, and Reasoning Ability); High language, high reasoning and critical thinking and abilities required. 
Computer Skills: Must be computer literate and have keyboarding skills
Other Skills: Dental administrative skills preferred; Ability to manage several projects at one time required; ability to work with a diverse patient population required; ability to plan,                                      facilitate meetings required, bi-lingual (Spanish speaking, ASL) desirable
Certificates & Licenses: Current Dental Assistant Certificate, EDDA Certificate required

Physical Demands
 Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
