Peak Vista Community Health Centers provides exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.

We are a private nonprofit dedicated to premier medical, dental and behavioral health services for people of all ages. We provide primary care services to residents of the Pikes Peak Region through 20 outpatient health centers and are accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).


 
Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Ensures that the drug therapy needs of the patients are met, safely and effectively. Works primarily in the Peak Vista Community Health Centers Pharmacy. Reads and interprets medications and prescriptions. Reviews prescription for appropriateness and confers with prescribers or patients on questionable orders. Provides patient counseling and accurate and timely response to requests for drug information. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Pharmacy degree required.

Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience as a pharmacist desired.

Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): Thorough knowledge of pharmaceuticals, pharmacy practice, and pharmacy math required. Must have ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

Computer Skills: Keyboarding skills and literacy with pharmacy computer systems required, electronic health record and pharmacy automation system desired.

Other Skills: Ability to work with professional medical staff, possesses good patient counseling skills required.

Certificates & Licenses: Registered Pharmacist with a current license in the state of Colorado required. Must meet all Colorado State Board of Pharmacy requirements to engage in Drug Therapy Management. 

Physical Demands
Physical Demands: Able to lift at least 25 pounds. Long periods of standing and moving. Occasional periods of sitting. Hearing within normal range for telephone use. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time.
