Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.  We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 27 outpatient health centers in El Paso, Teller, Lincoln, Adams, Elbert, and Kit Carson counties.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 900 employees and serves 90,000 patients in the Pikes Peak & East Central Plains region.  Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Provides specific attention to the successful operation of the dental program through direct oversight of all dental providers and the Clinical Team Manager. Provides dental care in the clinical setting. Recommends the dental program’s scope of practice to the Chief Medical and Dental Officer. Is responsible to assure the currency of policies and procedures essential to dental care. Is responsible to insure ongoing credentials are in place for all providers and assures compliance and conformance to all provider-related local, state and federal regulations. Is responsible for hiring, orientation, and oversight of all employees of PVCHC’s Dental program, including dental providers. Has direct supervision of the Dental Clinical Team Manager who, in turn has direct oversight of front office staff. Is responsible for the maintenance of accurate, current records relevant to patient care and practice management. Establishes and promulgates education affiliations with dental residency programs, dental schools, dental hygiene schools, and dental assisting schools in coordination with clinic manager. Participates in activities of the Colorado Springs Dental Society, the Colorado Dental Association, and other professional organizations on behalf of PVCHC. Advocates for Community Health Centers at the local, state, and regional levels.


Qualifications
Education: Dental degree. Postgraduate training desirable
 
Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience as a dentist. Proven administrative, managerial and leadership experience. Knowledge of public health issues and local healthcare community desired.
 
Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): Thorough knowledge of dentistry, dental
practices, and practice management. Effective oral and written communication skills. People and
organizational management skills. Conflict resolution skills; Systems thinking skills.
 
Computer Skills: Literacy with basic Microsoft Office applications
 
Other Skills: Proven fiscal analysis skills. Ability to work with other health care providers; possess
patient listening and counseling skills. Bi-lingual desirable.
 
Certificates &Licenses: Current active Dental License in the state of Colorado; Must be eligible for liability insurance; Must have current Drug Enforcement Administration registration.
