Job Summary (Essential Functions)

The Facilities Help Desk Technician (FHDT) position is an integral function of the Facilities Department.  This position serves as the front-line customer service representative for 23 geographically separated facilities.
 
This position requires extensive computer skills and software skills enabling them to perform administrative duties applicable to this job. 80% of this position is comprised of administrative and clerical duties to include, processing financial documents, expenditure tracking, report generation, and critical expenditure reconciliation of approximately $458, 000 per month. Stringent data collection is required for Peak Vista’s three year, Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care audit (AAAHC). In addition to Microsoft Office software, this position requires the ability to develop templates and format reports for data analysis and record retention. A minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred.
 
This position serves as the first point of contact for all departments for incoming work requests, security issues and safety concerns. This position is a hands on member of the Facilities Maintenance team requiring the knowledge and skills to repair and maintain a wide variety of building systems and equipment operations. This position requires the ability to communicate accurately and effectively in writing or orally and is required to maintain and track all annual facility utility inspections, maintenance repairs, construction repairs and any other duties assigned. A minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred.
 
Additionally, critical record collection, record tracking, and proper phone etiquette is required. This position requires the ability to diagnose problems quickly, direct the correct personnel to respond, and complete required tasks in a timely manner. This position works closely with the Facility Manager  and Facilities Supervisors and may act as the point of contact with contractors and vendors such as medical,  custodial, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, landscape,  and various others. This position is responsible for tracking blanket purchase orders, submitting purchase requests as required by the various facilities. Finally, this position is required to be part of the Facilities emergency response on-call program. This is a rotating seven day, 24 hour on-call status. On-call status requires the individual to respond to alarms or after hour request at all PVCHC locations.
 

Qualifications

Education: Minimum high school diploma required. Prefer additional training in trades related to facilities maintenance.

Work Experience: Minimum three years experience in industrial facilities maintenance preferred.

Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): Basic math skills and the ability to read and write English fluently required.

Computer Skills: The position requires basic computer sills including MS Office applications such as Excel.

Other Skills: Must have an understanding of the basic principles of carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, inventory control and record keeping. A solid understanding a basic safety practices and procedures associated with all areas of facilities maintenance required.

Certificates & Licenses: Must have valid Colorado drivers license, a clean driving record, and insurable by Peak Vista insurance carrier. The Facilities position requires that all technicians own and maintain a dependable and reliable vehicle as a condition of employment. This is required in order to fulfill the on-call requirements. Additionally, technicians are periodically required to use their personal vehicles as part of their normal duties.


Physical Demands

Able to lift at least 50 pounds. Long periods of standing and moving. Occasional periods of sitting. Hearing within normal range for telephone use. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time.
