Job Summary

Computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records by performing the following duties. Front desk coverage which includes greeting internal and external customers, answering the phone, and handling petty cash disbursements. Run daily reports from EPM and Instamed and reconcile differences to balance to daily work. Process and audit clinical daily monies, 75+ individual receptionists funds. Prepare and transmit daily deposits for Clinical, Corporate, and Foundation monies. Responsible for maintaining and reconciling petty cash log. Orders office supplies for the department. Process incoming mail which includes opening, date stamping and dispensing.  Assist with clinic cashier audits.Track cashier over/shortage issues and report to appropriate managers. Track all missing cashier monies and follow up appropriately. Provide cash handling training to new employees and additional training for staff having difficulties with processes. Assist as needed in Accounts Payable to include processing patient refunds and scanning, disbursing, tracking, and entering invoices. Employee demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to the Compliance Plan and conflict of interest requirements. The employee enhances the effectiveness; efficiency and productivity of the department by contributing to, and participating in, departmental performance improvement goals.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.  Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
 
Work Experience:  Two or more years of accounting and/or cash handling experience required. Experience in healthcare preferred. Experience in a non-profit preferred.
 
Cognitive Skills (language, Math, Reasoning Ability): High language, reasoning and critical thinking abilities.
 
Computer Skills: Intermediate working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook required.  Skilled in 10-key by touch and keyboarding. Experience with payroll software (preferably ADP) preferred.
 
Other Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on customer service.  Professional demeanor and appearance.  Strong problem solving skills.  Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.  Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and management. Successful candidate is a strong team player.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
