Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Summary:   The Education Health Initiative Administrative Assistant provides support to Senior Leadership and is responsible for a wide range of administrative and educational program support related tasks working independently with little or no supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.   Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform complicated scheduling and email management
  • Provide other support and assistance with as necessary to increase office efficiency and productivity
  • Responsible for attending and taking minutes for various meetings
  • Compile and distribute reports to management
  • Handles general office duties
  • Coordinate and monitor assigned projects and responsible parties to assure timely completion
  • Interact with staff in a fast-paced environment, with specific deadlines, remaining flexible, focused, proactive, resourceful and efficient
  • Use expert level written and verbal communication skills, decision making abilities and attention to detail in daily tasks
  • Employee demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to the Compliance Plan and conflict of interest requirements. The employee enhances the effectiveness; efficiency and productivity of the department by contributing to, and participating in, departmental performance improve goals.


Qualifications
Education: High School graduate, GED or equivalent in work experience required.

Work Experience: Minimum 3 years administrative assistant experience preferred.

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.   Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.   Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of
managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Internet software. Microsoft Outlook experience. Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, at minimum; keyboarding skills with accuracy.


Physical Demands

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
