Job Summary (Essential Functions)

As an intern in Peak Vista’s Communications Department, you will assist with the development, review (quality assurance) and production of promotional materials, assist in public relations initiatives, assist in campaign planning and strategy, utilize a variety of platforms for social media and support media relations, including press releases.  This is a great opportunity for a college student or recent graduate to be exposed to marketing's role within a successful business and the activities that support the integrated marketing communications (IMC) function.


Internship Project:

  •     Implement findings from summer "Healing Aura" report of all Health Centers
  •     Complete internal/external Sign Audit
  •     Assist in All-Staff event planning and logistics

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with communications brand manager on design projects and supports the organization as a graphic designer
  • Supports execution of assigned marketing plans and public/media relations, as needed
  • Works with communications project manager to support events like the provider get-together, open houses, employee all staff event
  • Works with digital media coordinator and communications coordinators to implement website/video/photography/social media activities
  • Works with Communications Project manager to support administrative component of collateral development/production/inventory
  • Composes articles,  press releases, advertisements and other marketing materials for various target audiences
  • Provides administrative support for the department, as needed
  • Attend project and committee meetings, may present to small groups
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
Certificates & Licenses: Valid Driver’s License and insurance required
 
  • Location: Colorado Springs Administrative Services Offices, 3205 N. Academy Blvd, Suite 130
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 –  4:30
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus, but not required
  • This is a paid internship

Qualifications

  • Education:  Bachelor Degree or coursework in communications, marketing, public relations or related field highly preferred. High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year in a communications, marketing or public relations preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Physical Demands

Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motor skills.  Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range.  Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
