Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.  We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 20 outpatient health centers in El Paso and Teller counties.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 600 employees and serves over 10% of the residents in the Pikes Peak region.  Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Oversees all administrative, contract, and personnel management functions within Peak Vista’s Laboratory and X-Ray services. Will ensure state and federal regulations are followed, and implementation and evaluation of all laboratory and x-ray processes and procedures are completed. Ensures that personnel are adequate in number and qualified to perform duties. Monitors all personnel and current expense budgets providing information and/or justification of variances. Recommends and develops quality cost containment programs for both services. Develops and reviews, in conjunction with the Assistant Vice President of Business Development, policies and procedures of the Clinical Laboratory to meet the Quality Assurance (QA) standards, and accrediting bodies. Prepares for inspection by accrediting agencies, ensuring compliance. Oversees the development, evaluation, and implementation of policies, procedures and protocols as required. Maintains effective communication for both services within Peak Vista, with our partners, and with our patients as necessary to assure identification of problems and provide problem resolution in support of the mission of patient care. Monitors reference lab and x-ray accounts and reconciling for accuracy. Reconciles patients’ accounts and verifying insurance and proper billing. Assures the adherence of all contracting and accreditation standards and policies as set forth by Peak Vista and the accrediting bodies for the purposes of licensure, regulation, and accreditation. Reviews and evaluates quality assurance reports for legibility, completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness, in conjunction with the Medical Director (as indicated). Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervision Exercised: Receptionists

Qualifications
Education: Associates Degree and equivalent experience required; Bachelors Degree preferred.

Work Experience: One to three years of management/supervisory experience required and one year of Billing/Coding experience preferred.

Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to interpret colors. Must have understanding of basic laboratory mathematics. Must have good organization skills and troubleshooting skills.

Computer Skills: Must possess basic computer skills and keyboarding skills.

Other Skills: Understands the basic concepts of routine laboratory procedures, quality control, quality assurance, proficiency testing, instrument maintenance and specimen collection and handling. Must have strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and frequent fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
