Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.  We provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral healthcare) through 28 outpatient health centers in El Paso, Teller, Lincoln, Adams, Elbert, and Kit Carson counties.  We deliver care with our strong “Hospitality” culture.  Our organization has over 800 employees and serves 82,000 patients in the Pikes Peak & East Central Plains region.  Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

The Vice President of Clinical Operation collaborates with Clinical Directors, Medical Directors and Medical/Dental VP’s to ensure encounter and quality outcomes are achieved. Works to assure continual improvement in patient access.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
 

  • Provide oversight of clinic operations as it relates to, but not limited to, provider productivity, schedule and template construction and maintenance, adequate staffing and patient concerns and experience
  • Share expertise in other areas in support of organizational objectives
  • Participate in Health Center strategic planning at the VP level incorporating operational, financial and relational concepts
  • Serve as a member of CORE Team.
  • Monitor and address action steps in the strategic plan
  • Assure consistency within centers at Peak Vista and investigate operational, financial, relational and strategic concepts
  • Represent Peak Vista at outside meetings as directed
  • Collaborate with Compliance for clinical risk needs and patient advocacy
  • Assists clinical leadership with vetting on clinically related projects; including but not limited to new clinic site startups and reviewing new grant proposals and maintaining compliance of current
  • Employee demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to the Compliance Plan and conflict of interest requirements. The employee enhances the effectiveness; efficiency and productivity of the department by contributing to, and participating in, departmental performance improve goals.

 
Supervision Exercised: Director of Clinical Operations
 
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
 
Suggested Competencies:
Ability to multi-task and to manage several projects at one time and ability to work with diverse patient populations required. Customer service skills. Ability to work with other health care providers; possess partner listening and counseling skills.                                            
 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required.

Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior leadership required. Proven administrative, managerial and leadership experience.


Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
 
Math Ability:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.
 
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
 
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software and Internet software.
