Job Summary (Essential Functions)
The Behavioral Health Coordinator provides administrative support to the VP of Behavioral Health while managing the day-to-day administrative coordination of Peak Vista’s Behavioral Health Leadership by performing the following duties.

  • Provide direct support to Vice President of Behavioral Health
  • Maintain departmental policies and procedures
  • Facilitates/coordinates meetings and trainings in conjunction with departmental leadership, include minute taking, attendance tracking, etc
  • Participates in hiring staff and makes recommendations/suggestions as to employment status
  • Orders and maintains non-medical supplies as needed
  • Schedules meetings, formulates agendas, facilitates and maintains minutes, attend department meetings and may attend other meetings as assigned
  • Tracks provider certifications and provides information to leadership regarding certification expiration and renewal
  • Provides narrative reports and statistical data regarding the findings of patient record reviews for decision-making by organizational leadership.
  • Assures the most economical utilization of time, materials, and resources to provide training to health personnel for optimal efficiency.
  • Works with other organizational departments on the implementation of new policies and procedures
  • Ensures training plans and materials are developed appropriately.
  • Maintain open line of communication between Behavioral Health staff and all other internal departments and external customers as necessary
  • Employee demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to the Compliance Plan and conflict of interest requirements. The employee enhances the effectiveness; efficiency and productivity of the department by contributing to, and participating in, departmental performance improve goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate programs. Ability to communicate effectively and handle difficult situations. Ability to work independently. Ability to work with a diverse patient population. Ability to plan, facilitate meetings. Ability to use a computer and related software/applications. Must be able to discreetly work with and maintain highly confidential information. Must be well-organized, driven and able to work in a fast-paced quick turn-around environment. Should have working knowledge of how to organize an event, and coordinate with internal and external contact to make certain all operations coming out of the clinical operations department runs smoothly, efficiently and professionally. Proficient and intuitive writing skills. Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking, ASL) preferred.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Education: High School graduate, GED equivalency. Associates preferred
Work Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience required and Ambulatory care/Primary care setting experience preferred.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Internet software.


Physical Demands
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
